Campaigns & Importing Reviews
Create a Message Mining campaign, auto-import reviews from Google Maps, Reddit, and Trustpilot, and browse the collected messages.
A campaign holds all the customer messages for one research effort, usually one company (your client or a competitor).
Create a campaign
- Open a client and click Message Mining in the sidebar.
- Click New Campaign.
- Enter a Company Name (the business whose customers you're researching) and an optional Description.
- Click Create Campaign. The campaign opens immediately.
If you're at your plan's campaign limit, the dialog shows an upgrade prompt instead. See Pricing for plan limits.
The campaign list supports a table view and a card view (toggle in the toolbar), plus a search box. Clicking a row opens a quick-view panel with the campaign's stats; Open Campaign takes you to the full campaign.
Auto-import reviews
- Inside a campaign, click Auto-Import.
- In the Auto-Import Reviews dialog, select a platform: Google Maps, Reddit, or Trustpilot.
- Set Number of Reviews (1 to 50 per import).
- Fill in the platform fields (below) and click Start Import.
Google Maps
Choose a Search Type:
- Keyword Search: enter a Keyword (e.g. "plumber") and an optional Location (e.g. "Denver, CO") to find a business and pull its reviews.
- Direct URL: paste the Google Maps URL of a specific business. Use this when you already know exactly which listing you want.
Note: Google Maps imports run in the background and can take a few minutes. The import appears in the campaign's Import History panel with a Processing status, and the reviews show up in the message list when it finishes. You can leave the page in the meantime.
Choose a Search Type:
- Keyword Search: enter a Keyword and one or more Subreddits as
comma-separated names (no URLs, no
r/prefix, e.g.HomeImprovement, Plumbing, DIY). - Direct URL: paste a Reddit URL for a subreddit or a specific post. The Keyword Filter field is required for subreddit URLs and optional for post URLs, where it filters comments by text.
Trustpilot
Paste the Trustpilot Business URL, which is the business's review page,
e.g. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/example.com.
Imported reviews count toward your plan's monthly review limit; the dialog warns you as you approach it. See Pricing.
Add a message manually
Use manual entries for feedback that doesn't live on a review platform: survey responses, support tickets, sales-call quotes.
- Click Add in the campaign header to open the Add Message form.
- Paste the Customer quote and give it a Main topic.
- Pick at least one Conversion aspect (Motivation, Value, or Anxiety) describing how the quote relates to a buying decision.
- Choose a Message type (Desired Outcome, Pain Point/Problem, Purchase Prompt, Objection, and so on) and enter the Source URL where you found the quote.
- Click Submit.
Browse the message list
The campaign page shows a KPI strip (total messages, messages this week, top theme, auto-imported share) above the Messages list. Each row shows the source platform, star rating and reviewer where available, the quote, and its message type.
- Expand a row with the chevron button to read the full quote plus its conversion aspects, business name, and original review date.
- Open the source with the external-link icon to view the original review or post.
- Delete a message with the trash icon.
- Filter with the tabs above the list (All, Manual, Auto-Imported, and a tab per platform once it has messages), or use the search box to match quote text, topics, and reviewer names.
A counter next to the list heading shows how many messages the campaign holds against your plan's per-campaign cap.
Tips
- Import from all three platforms for the same company when it has a presence on each. The themes that surface are usually different per platform.
- Start with a modest import and skim the results before pulling more. A focused set of relevant reviews beats a large noisy one.
- AI analysis needs at least 10 messages, and results get sharper with more. Aim for 30 or more before drawing conclusions.
Troubleshooting
A Google Maps import has said Processing for a while. Google Maps imports run in the background and normally finish within a few minutes. Check the Import History panel. The status updates to completed with an imported count, or to failed with an error message.
An import came back with fewer reviews than requested. The source didn't have that many matching reviews. Niche subreddits and businesses with few Trustpilot reviews commonly return small result sets.
The Auto-Import and Add buttons are disabled. The campaign has reached your plan's per-campaign message cap. Delete old messages or upgrade. See Pricing.
